Throw noun = drastic change of English for Japanese people 1
I’m called Dr. Rodrichinko, loving Japan so much.
I personally love many Japanese behaviors, but sometimes it can be
disadvantage in other culture than Japanese ones.
Then I am trying to put here some advice to make Japanese people
plain in public.
I hope that my small advice would be useful for usual conversation
in Japanese.
Today I will be picking up first example. It is “throw noun coming
into your mind”.
Japanese people are often quite silent among foreign audience because
they are not good at speaking English fluently. Nevertheless silence
could be not friendly to foreign people. Everybody who speaks disadvantaged
language can not make sentence.
So you do not have to make beautiful sentence, but do spread a simple
noun or short phrase coming into your mind at that time.
Corresponding the noun, you let a simple and short sentence follow
the noun.
For example, you are in some meeting room together with foreign colleagues, and
you found two white boards in the room. Now you can come up to some person T and
talk to T, conversation will be as follows;
you: “white boards”
T: “excuse me”
you: “white boards we have two here.”
T: “yeah, very big ones. We have to fill those up with many data on
today’s topics.”
you: “topics?”
T: “How to make our sales 3 times. ”
you: “3 times?”
T: “yes, definitely”
you: “3 times, it’s much more than I thought. ”
and so on, your colleague would lead your conversation beginning
from your simple word.
